Smell fennel, then taste. Red, is red, is red,

A Story: Gemini is usually a bucking bronco in fermenter, and apparently, we are horse-whisperers.      .

The Cliff Notes: The color is red cherry. Its aroma leads with red fruit and fennel, followed by strawberry cherry, double-bubble, plum and resinous herbs/garrigue (rosemary, thyme). The palate is higher tone red fruits, cocoa and floral notes. The wine has amazing “elan,” it’s highly drinkable, it moves out. It finishes on sanded-lip, satiny tannins and screams for cedar plank salmon.

The Building of: The three best barrels are here: wild-yeast fermented in stainless steel, 100% barrel aged for 18 months in French oak (one twice-filled, two neutral), selected and assembled as the best of the best. Bottled unfiltered in April 2026.

Ageability: We absolutely recommend that you consider decanting to get it some air within its first three years. This wine should easily climb in complexity beyond ten years.

Vineyards:The Laurelwood soil of Gemini Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA is a rich, wind-blown loess that contributes vigor to the plants and good acid to the wines made from these grapes, which are grafted, 33-year-old, Scott Henry–trained, Pommard clone Pinot noir.

Reviews

A medium transparent red color, the 2024 Pinot Noir Gemini opens with cinnamon stick, mint, wild strawberry, cranberry, and dried orange peel. More inward in personality, it will need time to fully reveal itself. Medium-bodied, it has bright iron-toned acidity, an angular texture, and impressive Nebbiolo-like tension. Sourced from windblown loess soils that naturally retain acidity, it is beautifully focused. Drink 2026-2046. 95pts

 Jeb Dunnick, Aug. 2026

The 2024 Pinot Noir Gemini Vineyard wafts up with a dusty bouquet of dried strawberries and cherries complimented by sage and pine. It's round in feel, with a subtle peppery tinge and violet inner florals, as a cooling wave of acidity enlivens its ripe red berry fruit. This finishes with excellent length and precision, leaving a mineral crunchiness, and pretty inner sweetness to linger. 2024 is notably poised and seeks the cellar. 94pts
